For first-generation-to-college students, the summer between high school and college and pose challenges to successfully enrolling. In spring and summer 2012, YWLN trained CBI alumni to provide coaching and support to their younger CBI peers through Bridge to College, with the goal of ensuring that college-admitted students enroll successfully come September.

Being a coach this summer has made me feel more invigorated about keeping my own college dreams alive and strong. It's more than a personal goal, graduating from college, but a community goal. I want to be someone that others look up to. -Yariel, CBI Class of 2011, Harvard University Class of 2015
