Brag Party with Peggy Klaus
May 3
The annual Brag Party is for high school juniors from The Young Women’s Leadership Schools. We need energetic and fabulous volunteers to help teenage girls learn the art of bragging and building self-confidence! Peggy Klaus, communication guru and author, will show the girls and volunteers how to deal with two of the most difficult soft skills for women to master: the impostor syndrome, and self-promotion. This high-energy, experiential workshop provides insights, strategies, tools, and techniques for conquering the little voice inside your head that whispers self-defeating thoughts and then teaches students how to toot their own horn (the right way, of course!) about the great things they’ve accomplished
8:30am to noon
** Breakfast will be served
The Museum of Jewish Heritage, 36 Battery Place, New York, NY 10280
4/5 to Bowling Green; R to Whitehall or Rector Street; or 1 to South Ferry

TYWLS WORKS!
May 17, TYWLS of Astoria
We are looking for companies to host 6-8 students (10th grade, age 15) at their office for a half-day program that opens their eyes to the world of work. We seek companies who can accommodate our students and give them a “big picture” perspective of the different types of jobs in the company and industry, as well as a flavor of your day-to-day responsibilities. The day will last from 10 am – 2 pm. We will work with you to create an agenda and program and we ask you to provide lunch and engaging, diverse volunteers. It is a great opportunity for students to gain first-hand knowledge in the workplace and meet terrific role models.
